Community Health Education
After centuries of marginalization, many African-Americans are wary of many public health efforts. However, we must act to Save Ourselves (SOS). We engage in community outreach to educate, increase awareness of health issues, and increase access to affordable care. This is a call to action to prioritize our health to protect ourselves, our family, friends and neighbors, as well as our community.
Economic Empowerment Education
We are committed to the economic empowerment of our community. In working toward stronger civic, community and economic participation, BJLI supports community members through program initiatives and connection with wrap around services that enable participants to fully engage in their local economies. We connect people to workforce development opportunities and entrepreneurship resources.
